Sweet Corn Festival

Last weekend, we went to a nearby town's Sweet Corn Festival...Yummy!
This was a major operation, complete with conveyor belts, dump trucks, vats of boiling water, professional "butter-ers" and a salting tree. It was great fun and we look forward to going next year when Moira can actually eat more than the measly one ear she downed this year.

Hot and fresh out the kitchen (yes, they cook the ears still in the husks).

Try not to get too caught up on this lady's hair color. Notice, instead, the tub on the table in front of her..."Cow tipper". Must be a local butter brand. Toto, we're not in Kansas anymore.

My favorite feature of the day: the salting tree!

After picking up your tub of corn and husking it yourself, you send your husks up this conveyor belt. They thought of everything.

Only one ear? Weak sauce, Beier.

Thanks to the Reddigs for introducing us to this great Wisconsin celebration!

Sounds like a really fun time. The picture of Dad and Moira was very cute...Moira especially :)
