RAI
Though we don't have TV at our house, we do get certain channels through the ethernet connection on the campus internet system. So, what TV we do watch, comes to us through the computer screen. In the last year, we have lamented the lameness of most of the offered channels. Until today. This academic year has seen the expansion of the campus television offerings, which now includes...wait for it...ITALIAN TV ("Rai"). My whole world has been revolutionized. Where I would have never before turned on the television during daytime hours (really, before Moira is in bed at night), I now find myself justifiably tuning in mid-day. Not that the programming is wonderful. It isn't. In fact, it is quite poor most of the time. But it is my one opportunity to hear native speakers talking in Italian and to expose Moira to the sweet sounds of their voices.
